AFC Dim Sum: Come to our first-Sunday-of-the-month Dim Sums at Furama, 4936 N. Broadway in Chicago at 12:30 p.m. Our next ones are Sun., May 4, June 1 and July 6, 2025. We meet on the second floor landing. Meal cost will be split among each table. After the meal, we typically march over to SoFo Tap, 4923 N. Clark in Chicago. If anyone wants to pre-game, come to Fat Cat, 4840 N. Broadway at 11:30 a.m.

Easter Bonnet Contest: We’re starting a tradition! On Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025, we’ll repeat our Easter Bonnet-making and Contest Day at Max’s Place, 4621 N. Clark, starting at 2:30 p.m. with bonnet making and around 3:30 p.m., we’ll have the bonnet contest and Easter egg hunt. Prizes to be awarded!

May Fundraiser: Join us for our “Masquerade Songbird” Contest, featuring masked singers from our very own AFC community. Expect wild outfits, talented singers and a salty but funny commentary from our guest judges. We’ll be at the Holiday Club, 4000 N. Sheridan in Chicago the evening of Sat., May 17, 2025 at 7 p.m. (tentative start time). We’ll have the sing-off contest, dancing and raffle, with initial prize donations coming from Atmosphere Bar, Campit Outdoor Resort, Lucky Horseshoe, Max’s Place, The North End and Touche Chicago. You can purchase tickets by giving $25 via our Pride Donations tab. Proceeds go to expenses tied to our 2025 Chicago Gay Pride Parade float and marching. See you then!

Pride Month: Get ready for a June full of Pride activities, to culminate in our 2025 Parade float at the end of the month. We’ll be at Michael N.’s place again for most of these events. He’s at 4239 S. Langley in Chicago. We do have some dates (with times still TBD):

Sundays, June 15 and 22, 2025 – Float build dates at Michael N.’s place.
Saturday, June 28 – Pre-Pride Party at Michael N.’s place.
Sunday, June 29 – Pride Parade and Post-Parade Party. Our starting location for the parade will be TBD for a while, but our post party will be at Holiday Club, 4000 N. Sheridan Road in Chicago starting around 2:30 p.m. (exact time TBD).
