Hey all! Here’s an updated calendar of our events for this weekend:
Saturday (6/25), 2 p.m.: Pride Preparations–Come help construct and paint cardboard cars and trucks for our “I’m Not a Transformer; I’m a Transvestite” themed truck/trailer. We’ll need people to help paint the larger truck signs as well. Come to Angel and Bob’s place at 555 N. Artesian Unit i in Chicago (just west of Western and north of Grand). We’re going to actually pick up the truck at about 4:15 p.m.
Sunday, (6/26), 10 a.m.: Gather at the truck–Please plan to join us on the truck/trailer to ride the route. We still need people. We will be along Halsted south of Belmont–just south of Barry. We are entry No. 63, positioned ahead of the Sidetrack float. Try Angel’s cell at (773) 459-6775 if we’re not parked there by 10.
After the Parade: AFC has been invited to Robert and Carter’s place to join with the Filipinos in Chicago (FINC) group post parade. Their party goes from 4 p.m. until 11:30 p.m. The address is 5338 N. Ashland, west of Andersonville (north of Berwyn). Some of you may have received a duplicate e-vite, but we are all welcome. And note: Because we’ve been invited to Rob and Carters’, which will have ample food, we will not be dropping by Thai Classic this year as in the past. We’ll be sure to stop by Thai Classic another day.
Thanks all and here’s to a great Pride Day 2011!
Hi AFC,
My name is Amanda Lengsouthiphong and I’m a co-worker of William Tutol’s at Asian Human Services. I know that in the past our ageny has had a presence on the Asian and Friends float and I would like to continue that for this year’s PRIDE parade. William will be out of town that weekend, but I was think of having me and a couple others hold our banner on the float. I hope to hear back from you soon as to if this can happen this year. Thanks!
Best,
Amanda Lengsouthiphong
