We’re combining our Halloween Party with Chicago’s Northalsted Parade! It’ll be Saturday, October 31, 2026, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Lucky Horseshoe, 3169 N. Halsted in Chicago.
It’s a HALLOWEEN DRESS UP party! Instead of coming in your costume or makeup, come and get ready there at Lucky Horseshoe for the Halloween Parade. Of course, you can come already dressed up, but maybe you want someone to help with your makeup or need some styling advice. Let your fellow AFC members help.
We’ll also be doing this potluck. Bring whatever dish, side or dessert you would like to share. And of course, there will be spooky games and some kind of amateur stripper action going on (when in Rome …).
Now, some of you may be asking, why are we not at Michael N.’s house this year? Well, it’s because he moved into a smaller place up north—he loves it. He’s happy and we’re happy for him.
Going to Lucky Horseshoe this year also helps with the logistics of having a party before Halloween night and our participation in the Parade. With Halloween night (and the Parade) on a Saturday this year, we’re simply combining our annual, AFC Halloween party with our traditional, pre-parade meet-up at Lucky Horseshoe (just a block away from registration and where the parade starts).
For Lucky Horseshoe, we’ll party in the back bar. Just slither straight through the front bar to find our “private” gathering. But you’ll go back out to that front bar to buy drinks.
Then at around 6-6:30 p.m., we’ll start moving to the registration area for the parade, just north of the bar. We’ll have more details soon, so watch for those updates!
