Asians and Friends Chicago’s annual Chili Cook-off has expanded to anything you can cook in a crockpot. Our first-ever “Crockpot Cook-off” will allow any dish made in a crockpot to compete, with judging criteria to include taste, presentation, and popularity. The event will be on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at 3 p.m. with set-up time starting at 2 p.m. Our generous hosts at North End, 3733 N. Halsted, Chicago, IL, will provide the electricity for contestants to plug in. We’ll charge a $10 fee for those who want to eat and judge (of course, contestants can dine for free). We’ll have a raffle and the chance to be crowned AFC’s “Full of Crock” Top Chef. While most proceeds will go towards AFC’s 2024 Pride Parade effort, AFC is proud to announce it is establishing a partnership–which will include both funding and volunteerism–to a Chicago-area charity. More details to come!
