AFC Dim Sum: Come to our first-Sunday-of-the-month Dim Sums at Furama, 4936 N. Broadway in Chicago at 12:30 p.m. Our next ones are Sun., May 5, June 2 and July 7, 2024. We meet on the second floor landing. Meal cost will be split among each table. After the meal, we typically march over to SoFo Tap, 4923 N. Broadway in Chicago.

May Prom Fundraiser: AFC will host its annual Pride float fundraiser on Sat., May 18, 2024, at 7 p.m. at the Holiday Club, 4000 N. Sheridan Road, Chicago. Our theme will be LGBTQ Prom, to include prom-related activities, photos, and the glitz and glamour of your most flamboyant affair. Our colors will be red, gold and white, plus we are proud to announce our music wizard, D.J. Ron Sager! He’ll be spinning prom dance tunes from the 80s, 90s, and 00s. (Here’s his website to hear some of his tracks:  www.ronsager.com ). And thanks to one of our many raffle prize donors: Rainbow Races at rainbowraces.org. Suggested donation: $25. You can purchase tickets via our home page.

Pride Events: More details to come, but pencil in Sun., June 23 as an afternoon of creating float decor, Sat., June 29 for our afternoon/evening float building and Pride Party, and then Sun., June 20 for the Pride Parade. Don’t forget, the parade starts an hour earlier this year!

2024 Pride: Pride float construction parties and Pride Day events (Sun., June 30, 2024) to be announced!
