Asians and Friends Chicago’s first-Sunday-of-the-month Dim Sum is this Sun., Nov. 7 at 12:30 p.m. at Furama Restaurant, 4936 N. Broadway in Chicago. We’ll meet on the second floor as usual with each table splitting their tab. But instead of moving to SoFo afterwards, we’ll be heading to the memorial of our dear friend Joe Conklin. He served on our IFCON 2016 Hosting Committee and was an active AFC member. As some of you have heard, he passed a few days ago, just shy of his 80th birthday. Our condolences to his partner Curtis and Joe’s family in this time of sadness and loss. We hope that everyone can plan on coming to the memorial to celebrate a life well lived. Joe’s memorial will be at 2 p.m. on Sun., Nov. 7 at Drake & Son Funeral Home, 5303 N. Western, just two miles west of Furama. It’s just a 10-minute drive from the restaurant so we hope you can all make arrangements to attend.
