In celebration of the holidays, Asians and Friends Chicago is planning two fall gatherings that will set your hearts aglow. These November and December events follow our “You Be Boo” Halloween Gathering from 6-11 p.m. on Sat., Oct. 26 at Michael N.’s place at 4239 S. Langley in Chicago.
Art on the Mart – A Fall Gathering
Sunday, Nov. 10, 2024. 6 p.m. meet-up time. We’ll view ART on THE MART, a half-hour, outdoor, live projection on Chicago’s famed Merchandise Mart building. We’ll get together at 6 p.m. at the Wells Street Market, 205 W. Wacker. Located at Wells and Wacker, our meeting place is a go-to chef-driven food hall and market offering standout dining options at the gateway of the Loop.
Presented in partnership with Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events (DCASE), ART on THE MART is one of the world’s largest digital art platforms that transforms an architectural landmark into a permanent, larger-than-life canvas. A shining example of Chicago’s long-standing commitment to public art, ART on THE MART brings cutting-edge video mapping techniques to Chicago’s Riverwalk, displaying projections of contemporary art across the 2.5-acre façade of THE MART, the largest privately held commercial building in the United States, internationally recognized as a global innovator in culture, design, and technology. Our showtime viewing is at 7:30 p.m.
A Nice & Naughty Gift Package Exchange
Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024. Time: 3-6 p.m. Are you on Santa’s “Naughty List?” Then get in the swing of things with our Nice & Naughty Gift Exchange at the Lucky Horseshoe, 3169 N. Halsted in Chicago from 3-6 p.m. We’ll take over the back bar and have a gift exchange (please bring a present between $10-$20). We’ll play a few reindeer games and share good cheer. There will be no charge for event attendance. Cash bar up front. Feel free to bring a snack or two to share.
