A last-minute pivot with the entertainment for our 2025 Spooktacular Halloween Party led to a “Squid Games” theme, where we played “Red Light, Green Light,” the card-flipping game “Ddjaki,” and the “Dalgona” cookie-cutting game. Guests were delighted when we took a cap gun and eliminated them (in the face, hee hee). The theme grew from two guests planning to come as bobble-head versions of the Girl and Boy Dolls, Young-hee and Cheoul-su.
The night included memorable musical performances from Niel Gabriel Requintel, Vanilla Deelight (in a Rocky Horror-inspired number) and Young-hee herself. Lots of great costumes, including Ozzy Ozborne, Fred Flintstone, Marvel superheroes and even a bloody, feminine napkin.
And of course, fabulous tune spinning from DJ Aaron Sager.
Thanks to the Asians and Friends Chicago team, including Michael N. for hosting, setting up and decorating, as well as Vanilla D., Aaron S., Charisse M. for organizing the food and games, and Angel Fyre for putting the “Squid” in Squid Games. Great time had by all.
