Once again, John L. and Kevin V. are leading a wintery event out in the suburbs–our quasi-annual trip to the Norge ski jump in Fox River Grove on Sat., Jan. 25, 2025. Here’s the info:
Norge Annual Winter Ski Jump Tournament
Saturday, January 25, 2025. Meet at 11:30 a.m. at the Metra Market, 117 N. Clinton Street, in the Ogilvie Transportation Center Station in downtown Chicago.
This is Asians & Friends event will be the fifth excursion to watch future Olympians in the Norge Annual Winter Ski Jump Tournament.
Believe or not, Chicago had more ski jumpers at the last two Winter Olympics than from any other city. Even more than Park City, Utah, or Lake Placid, N.Y. Why? Join us and you’ll see. We have a 70 meter (240 feet) hill with a jump right here in the Chicago suburbs!
We’ll meet at the Metra Market for lunch at 11:30 a.m. and then catch the 12:30 p.m. train to Fox River Grove where the ski competition is. Beer, wine, cocktails and food are available at Norge. Note you may not BYOB.
The train round trip is $7. Tickets for the Norge Jump are $25 at the gate or $20 at the ski club.
Remember to save your online tickets on your phone or print them out (they won’t be able to look up your name at the gate).
Return trains run every hour at 3:11, 4:11, 5:11, etc.
The competition ends a little after 4 p.m.
Care to drive? Parking is limited, but you can park by the nearby Metra station. A shuttle takes guests back and forth to the venue entrance. Their address is:
