Like last year, Asians and Friends Chicago has been invited to party on a harbor dock next to a boat from the LGBTQ boating club, Rainbow Races. Here’s the info:

Party on the Dock: Sun., July 28, 1-5 p.m. Jackson Park Yacht Club, Outer Harbor, 6400 S. Promontory Dr. in Chicago. D Dock, the southern most pier. It’ will be the blue boat with a rainbow flag. We will use the dock space and an area on land to party.

Parking is available at the north end of Promontory Drive in the Circle until 9 p.m., street parking on Promontory Drive is 24 hours and the south parking lot is open until 9 p.m.  (See map.)

Now, we realize this event is a pop-up and we don’t expect tons of folks at this late date, but know that we will have to cap the number of folks to 25. While we’re not predicting a rush, know that it’s better to commit sooner than later–just in case. Email Angel at AngelChgo@aol.com to RSVP (by Thurs., 7/25).

Our host, Rainbow Races, will bring an electric grill, hotdogs and buns. Feel free to bring food, drink, snacks, ice, any portable table and chair setup that’s easy to bring.

No thongs. (Children may be present.) Tasteful swimwear required. Don’t forget sunscreen. Bring a flotation device if you wish. Rainbow Races will have a pump and will have some of floats to toss in.

No flames on the pier.

There is a ladder close by for folks to climb out of the water and Rainbow Races will try to borrow a “lily pad” floating matt like last year, but he won’t know until closer to the event date.

We hope you’ll be able to attend this unique event, offered only to Asians and Friends Chicago members.
