Sat. June 25 at 1 p.m. — All Hands on Deck Party: Sponsored by The Starr Team
We will be doing last-minute decoration and backdrop building for our AFC Pride Parade float at Michael Nemeth’s place at 4239 S. Langley in Chicago. Bring food or drink to share. We will focus on the work that needs to get done but feel free to wear costumes, get into the spirit of Pride and have fun.
Thank you to The Star Team for its support and food donations from Flip Sigi. We’ve also had support from other donors in the recent past, including Butter bakery, Pomme Jewelry, former Miss Philippines Ms. Maria Isabel Lopez and the Holiday Club.
Sun., June 26 — Pride Parade
The Pride Parade for AFC members and those wanting to march with us will start between 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. with check-in for float marchers. The link above will explain details about where to meet and gather. Those assigned for on-site construction and decoration will meet at the float on the east side of Broadway between Sunnyside and Wilson. AFC is float No. 52. Float riders must appear no later than 11 a.m. at the float site and must fill out the same sign-in form that marchers do (the link above) to acknowledge and sign the release form.
Sun., June 26 — Post-Parade Thank-You Party
We will be throwing a Thank-You party for helpers, marchers, riders, donors and all supporters of AFC and our monumental efforts at this year’s AFC Pride Parade float. It will be at @mosphere, 5355 N. Clark in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Most people make their way up after the parade. We’ll have hot dogs and other sides, but please bring more food to make the potluck more substantial. Cash bar. Thanks to @mosphere and its staff for hosting.
