“2 Mad Men & a Dress” Party

Celebrate a joyous occasion with Asians and Friends Chicago board Pres. Angel Abcede and his longtime partner, Bob Phillips, with an engagement party thrown by good friends Angela Rupp, Billy Cheng and Charisse Bernabe Lindner.

The festivities will occur in a newly refurbished home on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 1851 Home Avenue in Berwyn, Ill. 7 p.m. to midnight. No charge. No gifts please.

Dress

BYOB, with some beer and wine provided. Karaoke by Bobby Love’s KJ Creaoke. Please RSVP by Fri. April 10 on our AFC hotline (312) 409-1573.

At the request of the happy couple, the evening will kick off the fundraising efforts for Asians & Friends Chicago’s 2015 Pride Parade float, the centerpiece of which will be revealed that night: A spectacular couture gown by Chicago fashion designer, Kevin Vong. Asians & Friends has won for “Best Organization” in the Pride Parade two years in a row and hopes to repeat its success with your help. While the party is free, we’ll be accepting donations from the small side ($5-$10) to higher end ($50-up) with pledge amounts accepted as well. A donation button will appear on this site soon too. Visit www.afchicago.org.

Guests are welcome to attend in attire inspired by the TV series, “Mad Men,” and bring a dish to feast on in the style your grandma made in the 1960s–or just add pineapple or smoke while you’re cooking. Special Hi-Fi Karaoke favorites from well-known Chicago KJ Creaoke, featuring Tony Bennett, Dino, Sammy Davis Jr. and the Chairman of the Board, Frank Sinatra.
