Happy Pride Asians & Friends Members! With the Pride Parade and festivities coming up this weekend, we’d like to make sure you know what we’re up to. First of all, at this Sunday’s Pride Parade (6/29), if you’d like to march with us, please come to our Asians & Friends Chicago float at 10:30 a.m. We’ll be lined up on the east side of Broadway north of Sunnyside.
We’re No. 44 behind the PFLAG trolley and in front of the Center on Halsted float. All the spaces on the float are accounted for, but if you want to join us to march alongside and hand out beads, please come. We’ve had a dress code of metallic silver or gold for float riders, so you can be imaginative and join in or just wear what’s comfortable for you.
After the parade, Robert and Carter have opened up their home for an after party. They’re at 5338 N. Ashland in Andersonville. The event starts at 4 p.m. BYOB or bring a snack. Hope to see you there!
Then as for our upcoming July events, our First Sunday of the Month Dim Sum is Sun., July 6, 12:30 p.m. at Furama Restaurant, 4936 N. Broadway in Chicago, second-floor landing.
Then on Sat. July 12, we’re going to see an evening showing of Transformers 4. Many of our members were cast as extras in the Hong Kong scenes. Since we’ve yet to find out where it will be playing that weekend, call to RSVP at (312) 409-1573. We’ll reach back to you with the details that week, but know that it’ll be in the city somewhere. You can also check our website here for details as it gets closer to the date!
