In addition to our first-Sunday-of-the-month Dim Sum at Furama, 4936 N. Broadway in Chicago at 12:30 p.m. Sun., July 7, we’ve got a special Pride Month all set for Asians and Friends Chicago. First up, we’ve scheduled our monthly Dining Club for Las Tablas, a Columbian restaurant at 2942 N. Lincoln Ave. in Chicago for Thurs., June 20 at 7 p.m. Please RSVP for Las Tablas by Tues., June 18 so we can make reservations. Call our hotline at (312) 409-1573.
Second, we’re having a pre-Pride celebration and PrideFest visit on Sat. June 22 from 2-4 p.m. at Billy’s place in Boy’s Town just west of Broadway on Roscoe. The address is 627 W. Roscoe #2A. His last name is Cheng. Bring an appetizer or snack and BYOB. We’ll head off to PrideFest just north on Halsted afterwards.
Then we’re hoping you can all dig into your pockets and help AFC rent a float for this year’s parade, Sun. June 30 kicking off at noon. Kevin Vong has made a stunning gown out of popcorn that will be a central highlight. An initial round of asking was done, which secured us the basic float, but we need additional donations to make up for the $400 entry fee and ancillary materials.
