Event Calendar
First Sunday of the Month Dim Sum: We meet for Dim Sum at Furama, 4936 N. Broadway in Chicago at 12:30 p.m., second story landing. Upcoming dates are Sun. April 7, May 5 and June 2.
Thurs., April 18: Monthly Dining Club–We resume our monthly Dining Club at King of Thai Noodles and Rice at 1129 W. Argyle St. at 7 p.m. It’s near the L Red Line stop at Argyle. It’s authentic Thai at a very inexpensive pricepoint.
Sat. April 20: Three Rivers Casino, 3000 S. River Road, Des Plaines–We’ll meet in the valet area at 7 p.m. just before you go into the turnstiles of the casino. You can drive to Des Plaines or you can make your way there via the Chicago Blue Line L train (to O’Hare) off the Rosemont stop (the last stop before O’Hare coming up from downtown Chicago). From there, a shuttle runs every 10 minutes, 24 hours a day.
Sat. May 11: Hug an Asian Day pub crawl. Starting at the new appetizer-martini bar called Bonsai, 3503 N. Halsted at 7 p.m., the plan will be to dress up in ethnic outfits and make our way down Boystown, celebrating Asian Pacific Islander month.
Sat. June 22: Pre-Pride Potluck. As a pre-Pride celebration and taking advantage of the Pridefest street fair, AFC will host a potluck. Location to be announced.
Sun. June 30: Pride Parade. Make plans to be in our Pride Parade entry for 2013. More details to come.
Thurs., July 4: Fireworks on Angel and Bob’s rooftop. Located in south Ukranian Village, AFC Pres. Angel Abcede and his partner Bob will host AFC members at his home with the highlight being local park and neighborhood fireworks. Address and time to be announced.
