Here’s more details about our July 16 Day at the Arlington Racetrack:
Saturday, July 16: AFC’s Day at the Races–Arlington Park Racetrack
Noon: For those driving themselves, meet at the park’s front entrance, Arlington Heights, Ill.
For those who need carpool rides from the city, meet at 10:15 a.m. at Ann Sather’s, 909 W. Belmont for 10:30 a.m. departure. Angel’s cell: (773) 459-6775.
For those who want to take the train, Metra train arrives at Arlington Racetrack at 11:15 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. (www.metrarail.com) [Note: The front entrance where the parking lot is, that’s on Euclid. The train parking lot is off Northwest Highway or Old Wilke Road.]
Admission ($8) will be FREE compliments of TruGreen/Chemlawn, but you MUST RSVP to our hotline (312) 409-1573 by 5 p.m. Wed. July 13.
Races begin at 1 p.m. (10th and last race posts at 5:39 p.m.)
Starting at 4:45 p.m., we’ll meander via multiple cars to Big Shot (a gay friendly bar) at 2 S. Vail Ave., Arlington Heights, Ill.
7-7:30 p.m. We’ll walk to a nearby restaurant for dinner. (Restaurant to be determined by number of RSVP’s.)
Metra trains leave Arlington Heights stop at 4:30, 6:30 and 8:30 returning to Chicago.
