Asians and Friends Chicago raised $600 for AIDS-awareness and Japanese earthquake relief charities this past weekend at its “Green (Fairy) Tea Party: Pride and Absinthe” event at the Dana Hotel’s Vertigo Sky/Rooftop Lounge. The charities, School Street Arts Movement (www.schoolstreetarts.org) has a long history of AIDS-awareness work in Chicago Public Schools and the American Red Cross is actively helping those still struggling after the Japanese earthquake and tsunami earlier this year. Thanks to one and all who attended (about 50 people). The event, which also featured the debut of GAM-TV (gamtvusa.com), was truly a success.
