International Mr. Leather (IML) Leather Mart visit–We’ll gather at the second-floor bar in the atrium lobby of the Hyatt Regency, 151 E. Wacker in downtown Chicago at 1 p.m. We’ll move to the Leather Mart at 1:30 p.m. No RSVP necessary. The Leather Mart organizers will take a $5 suggested donation at the door. Expect a huge trade-show floor of exhibits and vendors selling all types of leather apparel and accessories. You can purchase beer and wine on the floor. The group typically wanders together for a couple of hours. It’s always a hoot!

Gay Pride Parade entry. Meeting along Halsted south of Belmont at 10 a.m. Call to participate—and make note that we’ll gather on a weekend prior to the parade to create our entry decorations. A Day at the Races. Join us in a jaunt to Arlington Racetrack in Arlington Heights, Ill., for a day of horse racing and betting on the ponies. We’ll also be car pooling from downtown for those who need rides.

AFC’s 27th Anniversary Party. Steve and Ming have graciously offered to host once again at their Hollywood Beach condo party room or garden (depending on the weather). 5801 N. Sheridan Road in Chicago. Noon start time with the event wrapping up around 5 p.m. It’s potluck and BYOB. We’ll collect annual dues of $20 for individual, $30 for couples.

ifCON gathering in Houston. “Houston, We Have A Party.” Visit ifcon2011.org for more information. This is the annual, national gathering of Asians and Friends and Long Yang Club chapters. Typically 200 members from across the country and around the world attend.
