Asians and Friends Chicago would like to assist in the search for nominations for Windy City Times’ 30 Under 30 awards. Here’s the info:

Windy City Times newspaper is seeking to recognize 30 outstanding lesbian,
gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals, and their allies, for its annual
30 Under 30 awards.

In 2000, Windy City Times established an award to acknowledge the young
movers and shakers of the Chicago-area LGBT community: the 30 Under 30
Awards. Thirty young activists, athletes, journalists, students, HIV/AIDS
volunteers, performers and others who were each under the age of 30 were
honored for their achievements in moving the LGBT community forward. Each
year since, another 30 have been honored.

Nominees should be under 30 years of age as of July 1, 2009 and should have
made some substantial contributions to the LGBT community, whether in the
fields of entertainment, politics, health and/or other areas.

The deadline to nominate individuals is Friday, April 24. The awards
ceremony will be Tuesday, June 23, at the Center on Halsted, 3656 N. Halsted
in Chicago.

Individuals, organizations, co-workers, friends and family can nominate a
person by sending an e-mail or fax to Windy City Media Group. The nomination
should be 100 words or less and should state what achievements or
contributions the nominee has made. Nominators should include their own
names and contact information as well as the contact information of the
nominee. WCMG will except self nominations.

Nominations can be sent to Andrew@WindyCityMediaGroup.com
or faxed to Andrew Davis¹ attention
to 773-871-7609, by April 24, 2009.

The 30 under 30 Awards are sponsored by Windy City Times, with co-sponsors
