Hey Asians & Friends Chicago members:<\/p>\n

Sometimes community groups ask us to reach out to our members because they’re looking for folks in our demographic. Several organizations (as noted in this flyer) are conducting a study on Asian Pacific Islanders who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans or queer and their communication with health-care individuals. A stipend is involved if you wish to participate.<\/p>\n

Part of the reason AFC helps out with these studies is that it validates our mission as a group that provides a safe and supportive social environment for LGBTQ people of Asian descent and those who appreciate Asian cultures. AFC members can also participate in a general study not targeting API demographics specifically. Lisa Gilmore, the project manager for both studies will be joining our upcoming April 9 potluck at North End to say hello, meet folks and answer any questions you may have about the study.
