AFC Holiday Dinner 2011

Things were a little tight at Buca di Beppo, a very popular restaurant downtown where AFC had its 2011 Holiday Gathering, but the cheer of the season and a little mingling by the Pope Room (with a lively gift exchange) lifted everyone’s spirits. The spaghetti, fettuccini and eggplant lasagna was plentiful, hearty and tasty. Then everyone took a short walk to Downtown Bar for a night cap (and a little Karaoke). Happiest of holidays to all!

AFC Holiday Dinner this Sat. (12/10) @ Buca Di Beppo

This Saturday (12/10) is our annual AFC holiday party (combined with our December AFC Dining Club), which this year will be at Buca Di Beppo, 521 N. Rush in Chicago (at Grand) at 7 p.m. We’ll split the tab. And while the place is big enough to handle walk-ins, please RSVP to us by Wed., Dec. 7 at (312) 409-1573. Afterwards, we’ll probably walk to the bar Downtown on State north of Grand for drinks (and Rob F.’s band is playing at midnight at another club at Irving Park and the Brown Line–some of us will be headed there too …)

Recapping recent events, we have a photo of this past Sunday’s Dim Sum at Furama with the gang finishing up and heading to Big Chicks for drinks. And then the Nov. 17 AFC Dining Club at Broadway Cellars. If you do visit Broadway Cellars, mention the Armory Tumbling team and the restaurant will make a small donation.

Some photos of the fun after Dim Sum this past Sunday when AFC members marched off to the Reeling Film Festival. They saw “Vamperifica” and met the writer-star of the indie film. Afterwards was a jaunt to Sidetrack. Fun, fun, fun! The next event is the monthly Dining Club at Broadway Cellars (see info below).
